Robot arm for applications with tight installation spaces

In Hall B6, Stand 125, Oriental Motor will be presenting a Scara robot arm for applications with a very low overall height. Other highlights include a robot controller for up to eight axes and solutions for laboratory automation. With the OVR series, Oriental Motor is launching a whole range of robots in a compact design. It all starts with the OVR3041K3-H Scara robotic arm, which is celebrating its premiere at automatica 2025. The arm is characterized by a very flat design and is therefore ideal for all applications in which the operational height is very limited.

As the OVR3041K3-H has a battery-free absolute encoder, it does not require any external reference sensors. On request, Oriental Motor can supply the robot arm with suitable end effectors such as electric grippers or stepper motors with integrated spindles

The MRCU robot controller controls up to 8 axes and covers applications such as delta, gantry, palletizing and articulated arm robots. With the help of the MRCU, the new OVR3041K3-H robot arm, for example, can be made ready to start with just a few clicks. Even robots developed in-house and equipped with AZ stepper motors from Oriental Motor can be put into operation with just a few inputs using the controller.

Commands can be saved in a sequence profile via drag-and-drop using the free MRC Studio programming software supplied. The target position and speed can be individually adjusted and are very easy to set thanks to the integrated 3D simulator.

Oriental Motor is expanding its portfolio of highly efficient AZ stepper motors with battery-free absolute encoders to include drives with a frame size of 85 millimetres. The focus here is on the backlash-free PN gearbox, which guarantees maximum precision and backlash-free power transmission - ideal for demanding positioning tasks. A selection of compatible drivers with various BUS communication protocols and an integrated functional safety function (Safe Torque Off, STO) rounds off the system and meets all the requirements of modern automation environments.

Oriental Motor is also presenting a demo that includes over 30 different drives. At the heart of the system is a new CVD series multi-axis driver with EtherCAT interface. Among other things, it controls various stepper motors and peripheral devices from Oriental Motor's product portfolio, for example for de-capping sample vials and in pipetting processes.
