Dassault Systèmes and the Volkswagen Group announced a long-term partnership on February 4, 2025, to advance the Volkswagen Group's digital infrastructure for the development of state-of-the-art vehicles through the implementation of Dassault Systèmes' 3D experience platform.

The Volkswagen Group has chosen the 3D-Experience platform in the cloud as its fundamental development and manufacturing platform. Engineers, designers, and other specialists from the Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche brands will use virtual twins to optimize vehicle development. This enables teams to simulate, test, and optimize every aspect of vehicle development in a collaborative, virtual environment before physical production begins. At the same time, it ensures compliance with global regulations and sustainability standards.

"With continuous data streams and AI solutions built upon them, we are creating a genuine technological leap for our teams in development and factory planning. At the same time, we are sustainably reducing IT costs and accelerating processes by streamlining our system complexity and using virtual twins," said Hauke Stars, Volkswagen Group Board Member for IT.

"After four decades of a partnership characterized by innovation and trust, we are now opening the next chapter together with the Volkswagen Group. At the center is the 3D-Experience platform. Our AI-powered virtual twins and the performance and resilience of the cloud will connect the Volkswagen Group's hardware and software innovations. This will unlock capabilities and expertise to accelerate the software-driven transformation," explains Pascal Daloz, CEO of Dassault Systèmes.

The Volkswagen Group will use four industry solutions from Dassault Systèmes, based on the 3D experience platform: "Global Modular Architecture," "Smart, Safe and Connected," "Efficient Multi-Energy Platform," and "On-Target Vehicle Launch."
