Thomas Ingenlath will be the design chief of Swedish car manufacturer Volvo again starting in February 2026. The designer will be part of the Executive Management Team and lead the global design of Volvo Cars across the entire product portfolio.

Ingenlath first joined Volvo in 2012. At that time, as Senior Vice President Design, he shaped the Scandinavian design identity of Volvo's models. Most recently, Thomas Ingenlath was Polestar CEO.

"I am very pleased to return to Volvo Cars," said Thomas Ingenlath, according to a statement. "Design is a fundamental part of what Volvo stands for."

Nicholas Gronenthal, who has led global design as interim head, will now serve as Head of Design Americas for the brand.
