The innovative systems that Bonfiglioli presented in Stuttgart regarding sheet metal processing combine both industrial and precision gearboxes with motors and servomotors up to IE5, as well as with frequency converters. It combines a 300-series planetary gearbox that offers high overload capacity and enables torque control, with a BSR series synchronous reluctance motor that integrates precise sensorless control, and a decentralized DGM inverter mounted directly on the geared motor. Since the inverter is supplied directly with the geared motor, Bonfiglioli handles the mechanical assembly, wiring, and basic programming. This shortens installation times, reduces costs, and complexity, it is stated. Furthermore, it has a high degree of protection (according to IP65). Thus, the whole system also works in harsh and dusty environments within the production line.

2. Store and handle semi-finished goods better

The second exhibit in the innovation packages was developed for handling and storage systems of semi-finished sheet metal goods. It consists of a bevel helical gear motor from the A series. In combination with a permanent magnet synchronous motor from the BMD series, the system is characterized by its compactness. The motor scores with low inertia and meets the highest demands in terms of precision, dynamics, and speed. Additionally, there is a next-generation ANG Active servo drive. This includes a microcontroller that offers advanced functions, such as the "Cyclic Synchronous Positioning" mode with cubic interpolation, brake control, and feedback contact evaluation. Furthermore, the novelty is equipped with Z and W sensors, the so-called IoT sensors, which support predictive maintenance and provide real-time data on vibrations and temperature, as noted by Bonfiglioli.

3. Drive innovation for sheet metal bending

The third innovation in Bonfiglioli's six-pack is intended for bending sheet metal. It is designed for heavy-duty applications and dynamic processes and, according to the manufacturer, consists of a 300 series planetary gearbox with a hydraulic drive configuration. It can be adapted to all customer requirements for hydraulic motors. This reflects Bonfiglioli's broad range of systems, spanning from electronics to hydraulics, mechatronics, and mechanics.
