At Automate 2025 in Detroit, Siemens presented a new generation of industrial AI agents that expand the Industrial Copilots on the Xcelerator platform. According to a statement, this is intended to create an open, interoperable ecosystem where AI agents from Siemens and third-party providers autonomously control production-relevant processes—from planning and engineering to maintenance.

The core of the solution is an orchestrated multi-agent approach, where specialized AI agents take on tasks along the entire value chain. Unlike classic chatbots, these agents act proactively, continually learn, and interact with other tools and systems. The goal: productivity increases of up to 50 percent and alleviation of specialists in times of workforce shortages.

The AI agents are closely integrated with the Siemens Industrial Copilots— including engineering, planning, and operations copilots—that ease complex tasks for users through natural language. In initial pilot projects, significant efficiency gains have been observed, according to the company, such as at Thyssenkrupp Automation Engineering or the Siemens site in Bad Neustadt, Germany.
