Product configurator: Quickly find the right solution

Based on individual application data, Hiwin's design tool systematically queries the future application area of the drive component and determines the appropriate versions for the application within a few seconds. With just a few clicks, the standard component can be completely individualized in the product configurator and the suitable CAD model can be downloaded. Registered users can also directly order their configured items online with short delivery times. Prices and delivery times can also be viewed in the personal login area as well as individual projects and orders. In this way, Hiwin aims to provide the best possible support for its users in the digital design and procurement process and to quickly guide them to the right drive technology - from linear guides and ball screw drives to positioning systems.

Design tool: Find the suitable sliding bearing with little effort

Enter dimensions, determine application parameters, find plain bearings: This is how easy the new Igus online shop Iglidur Bearing Hub for polymer plain bearings now works. Whether it's a catalog part or special bearing, the customer gets a transparent overview of the plain bearings that are suitable for their application. Similar to online shopping for tools or fashion, customers can now quickly find the right plain bearings for their application on a modern user interface. But in addition to the revised operation, the new web shop also has entirely new functions. Igus has been offering several online tools for several years. This includes the calculation of the service life of components to facilitate material selection, or the determination of the cheapest or fastest manufacturing option for custom-made products with price and delivery time.

The new shop now combines catalog, web shop, and calculation program into one. This allows the customer to quickly find the cheapest plain bearing for their application that works. Instead of clicking through the over 50 different Iglidur materials, the user can simply enter the known dimensions and usage conditions of their desired plain bearing. The shop will display all suitable products in a matter of seconds, including service life, price, and delivery time.

App: Efficiently lubricate rolling bearings

Up to 80 percent of all premature bearing failures are caused by improper lubrication. Schaeffler's Grease app addresses this by determining the ideal lubricant type, lubricant quantity, grease usage duration, and relubrication intervals for the customer's initial and relubrication of rolling bearings. The software uses data from Schaeffler's own rolling bearing calculation tool, Bearinx, for the calculations. This prevents over or under lubrication and avoids premature bearing failures. In addition, the app provides recommendations for selecting suitable lubricants from the Arcanol program. In conjunction with the lubricant dispensers from the Concept family, the Optime lubricant dispensers, and the Arcanol lubricants, Schaeffler offers a coordinated system for sustainable lubrication of rolling bearings.

Configuration tool: Digitally to the individual linear module

Schunk has expanded the digital planning options for automation solutions with two new tools for designing and configuring linear modules. The Schunk portfolio contains more than 500 variants of linear modules. To find the right one, the automation expert provides users with the design tool. It is based on a proven design logic. With it, all relevant performance parameters for an individual component can be recorded in a simple and uniform way. Visual support provides assurance. Based on the information, the program produces a technically valid recommendation for suitable linear modules. In addition, the design tool provides information such as the application-specific life of the respective component and its degree of utilization. This allows users to see at the selection stage whether the component is suitable for a specific application one-to-one or whether there is room for expanded applications.

Once the appropriate linear module in the correct technical design has been found, it can be further specified using the configurator tool. Users have access to all non-design-relevant add-on parts in a wide variety of variants and options. Configurations can be saved, forwarded and edited again and again. Parallel to the configuration process, the program generates a 3D CAD model of the linear module for visual control of the configuration. In addition, the model can be downloaded in more than 60 formats.
