The Benteler Group is expanding its US business and constructing a new automotive plant in the city of Wyoming, Michigan. According to the announcement, production is scheduled to start in 2026. The plant will manufacture components for electric vehicles of an American automobile manufacturer.

150 new jobs

The facility in the Greater Grand Rapids area will be Benteler's seventh location in the USA. It covers an area of 29,300 square meters and can be expanded to over 40,000 square meters. Approximately 150 employees will manufacture battery trays and other metal components here, among other things. The plant will also have a paint shop to enhance the corrosion protection and durability of the produced components. In addition to the headquarters in Auburn Hills, the supplier has operated another facility in Grand Rapids since 1985.
