Several foreign non-Swedish investors are interested in taking over the insolvent battery manufacturer Northvolt. Binding offers for the company's insolvency assets have now been submitted, as confirmed by insolvency administrator Mikael Kubu to the Swedish public broadcaster Sveriges Radio. He described the negotiations as complex, which is why they are expected to last a few more weeks. However, Kubu expressed hope to enter into a binding agreement as soon as possible.

Northvolt filed for bankruptcy in Sweden in March. Since then, Kubu has been trying to find a buyer for various parts of the company. According to Sveriges Radio, the current offers pertain to Northvolt's main factory for battery cell production in Skellefteå and the Northvolt Labs development center in Västerås. Kubu has so far declined to disclose who the interested parties are and where they come from – according to the broadcaster, they are reportedly from Europe, North America, and India.

No clear Situation in Heide, Germany

It remains unclear what will happen with the factory under construction near Heide in Germany. Although the German subsidiary Northvolt Germany is an independent company, it is indirectly affected as part of the insolvent parent company.
