Drive technology manufacturer SEW-EURODRIVE demonstrates drive and automation solutions along a typical gypsum, with which this industry can become more sustainable and fit for the future. This is because building materials manufacturers are among the industrial companies that have a particularly high demand for energy and resources and are therefore under enormous pressure to achieve the climate targets that have been set.

"In the construction materials production sector, hardly any drives operate in 24-hour continuous duty with an unchanging load – in other words, under the conditions that allow our most energy-efficient drive systems to deliver their sustainability benefits," explained Patrik Menges, head of SEW-EURODRIVE Germany at Hannover Fair 2024. He is in no doubt about what this means: "If we, as a drive and automation specialist, are to be able to offer sustainable application solutions in this sector, we need to be particularly innovative."
In the spirit of sustainability, these and other solutions presented by the company also help countless other industries to become more efficient. Valuable resources can be saved for applications in enclosed spaces that are well protected from heat, cold, and moisture with coating-free gearmotors (ECO2 des-ingn). Additional benefits: without coating or painting, recycling is easier and more environmentally friendly and there is no need for energy-intensive re-painting after repairs.
In addition to asynchronous and synchronous motors that offer energy efficiency up to IE5, SEW-EURODRIVE will also be showing how processes can be optimized and made more efficient with intelligent energy and power management or with the help of artificial intelligence (AI).
