Hensoldt, a sensor specialist for critical defense applications among other things, now has a strategic milestone ahead of it. Munich-based (Germany) Hensoldt intends to expand its own vertical integration, increase its industrial resilience and scale its production capacities in line with the growing demand in the defense and security market, according to the planned takeover of Nedinsco. The transaction is seen as a targeted strategic step towards scaling production capacities and expanding optronics expertise in the areas of situational awareness, driver vision systems and sensor subsystems. This will also increase technological autonomy through greater integration of critical systems and the addition of further electronics expertise in a safety-relevant technology area.

Nedinsco Becomes Part of Hensoldt's Optronics Division

The transaction is expected to be completed in mid-2026, subject to regulatory approvals and Nedinsco's works council consultation process. The project will be financed entirely from existing funds. Upon completion of the transaction, Nedinsco will become part of Hensoldt's Optronics segment. By combining complementary strengths, the companies will improve the joint product portfolio, accelerate innovation developments and increase user benefits. Arno Bouwmeester, CEO of Nedinsco, explains: "This transaction secures our further growth and is an important step forward for our company and our customers." Through the merger, Nedinsco gains scale, stability, improved support and global reach.
