Yaskawa officially launches the iCube Control automation platform at the SPS. The Linux-based controller iC9226 works with the profichip Triton industrial processor and can control up to 64 servo axes synchronously. What is new is that EtherCAT can no longer only be used to control servo drives and frequency inverters, but also Delta and Scara robots, Yaskawa's own Motoman robots as well as customer-specific kinematics and other third-party devices.
