EOS, one of the leading providers in industrial 3D printing, and AM Solutions—3D post processing technology, an expert in industrial processes for post processing, have a common goal. The focus is on the intention to advance the process chain of additive manufacturing (SLS area) in order to pave the way for series production. In order to achieve this goal, both players have combined their expertise. They have worked together intensively over the past year and have already made great progress. Specifically, AM Solutions is referring to two machine concepts that are currently being developed specifically—but not exclusively—for the new generation of the P3 Next polymer printer from EOS. The fruits of this work were on display at the recent Formnext trade fair in Frankfurt am Main.

More efficiency in post processing

In addition to an unpacking option, which automatically, economically and reproducibly depowders the components and reduces powder contact for the operator to a minimum, an innovative 2-in-1 system is also available, which takes over the sieving and mixing of the printing powder. This system combines both process steps in a single machine, saving space and costs. According to the partners, it uses a special method to produce a mixture of old and new powder of outstanding quality. The mixing ratio can be adjusted individually and even small batches are feasible. The initial printing results have been very promising for EOS. In conclusion, this collaboration provides users with an end-to-end production option that optimizes their workflow and allows them to grow at their own pace.
