According to DMT GmbH, a subsidiary of the TÜV Nord Group, the DMT Rideguard solution is the world's first fully automated real-time monitoring system. The provider intends for it to complement the standards for monitoring rides in amusement parks in the future.

This system enables continuous monitoring of vibrations, shocks, and movements, providing additional security and more efficient maintenance. Based on IoT sensor technology and AI algorithms, the system continuously captures all relevant data and transmits it in real time to a cloud-based application. Park operators can thus gain a comprehensive overview of the condition of their attractions. Potential risks can therefore be identified and remedied at an early stage. "Our system enables targeted planning of maintenance intervals and reduces possible downtimes, which leads to increased availability of the attractions. The already high safety standards are not only met, but even improved. This can create additional trust among visitors," says Konrad Widera, product manager for DMT Rideguard.

System already in practical use

According to DMT GmbH, the film and amusement park Movie Park Germany in Bottrop-Kirchhellen has already successfully implemented DMT Rideguard. After a test phase on two rides starting in August 2023, the operator has decided on the system and plans to continue using it in the future.

According to Carsten Prang, technical manager of Movie Park Germany, the solution offers a constant and particularly valuable monitoring of the rides. The system itself reports any potential deviations. This function is a great support for the park operator in daily operations. According to the manufacturer, the system automatically reports irregularities and anomalies through various alarm and notification functions—by email or SMS, as desired.

The safety of amusement park guests is the top priority. Strict inspections by appropriate testing bodies are therefore in place. Daily visual inspections and regular checks and maintenance work with comprehensive checklists by the operators should ensure that the high safety standards are met. These inspections are to be effectively supplemented with DMT GmbH's system.
