Bechtle AG has published its strategic positioning on artificial intelligence (AI) and aims to underscore its claim to actively shape the future of this key technology in Europe as one of the leading IT service providers. The objective is to effectively use AI in customer projects, internal processes, and the development of new solutions.

Within the company itself, Bechtle aims to significantly expand the use of AI to optimize internal processes, utilize resources more efficiently, and continuously enhance the quality of its own services. This also involves relieving employees from routine tasks through automation and enabling them to focus more on value-adding activities.

Deepening the partnership in the AI ecosystem IPAI

By expanding its membership in the Innovation Park Artificial Intelligence (IPAI), Bechtle strengthens its position in one of the central AI ecosystems in Europe. The IPAI provides Bechtle with access to a network of AI experts, technology providers, and academic institutions. Along with customers on-site, Bechtle aims to also test new technologies and concepts early in the IPAI. "Our partnership allows us to be involved in forward-looking AI developments on a broad basis and to advance them, particularly with our expertise in IT infrastructure and solution integration," says Dirk Müller-Nießner.

Planet AI as a strategic partner

Bechtle emphasizes its commitment to AI through the majority stake in the German AI company Planet AI, which is active in the field of deep learning. The use of artificial neural networks plays a significant role in its self-developed products. Planet AI has been active in the market for ten years with technological solutions for intelligent document analysis and process automation. The core product is a multifunctional software platform that allows companies to automatically process handwritten and machine-written documents, receipts, and texts, classify document types, and extract information. Additional areas of application include image and speech recognition. In addition to the location in Rostock, a team from Planet AI will also operate in the Bechtle offices at the Heilbronn IPAI.
