The AI company Anthropic, backed by Amazon, is reportedly aiming for a valuation of 60 billion US dollars in a funding round.

According to the Wall Street Journal on Tuesday, Anthropic is in advanced talks for an additional $2 billion (€1.9 billion) in financing, citing people familiar with the matter. This would value the company at $60 billion. According to data provider CB Insight, the deal would make Anthropic the fifth most valuable U.S. startup, following Space X, competitor Open AI, Stripe, and Databricks.

Last year, Anthropic was valued at 18 billion dollars in a funding round, the Wall Street Journal further writes. Anthropic is best known for its AI chatbot Claude, which competes with the more publicly well-known Chat GPT.
