Suhner is a globally active industrial company specializing in tools for mission-critical metalworking: CNC tools for turning and milling, drilling, threading, tools for surface finishing. With the vision "Solutions for the creation of mission-critical metal components," from 2020 onwards, the tool provider became a solution provider for the life cycle of mission-critical metalworking: prototyping, pre- and post- processing, machining, robotics, surface finishing. Suhner employs 600 people in the most critical global markets for high-quality industrial manufacturing. There is a strong focus on practical consulting expertise for industrial manufacturers in the metalworking industry.

In line with its focus on these current trends, the Suhner Group has decided to exit mass production. This also results in the strategic withdrawal from the manufacture of stamped parts from its own production: a process particularly suitable for supplying the automotive industry with large volumes. Until now, Suhner has served this market with its subsidiary Unipress. The few selected specific customers still being served by Unipress with stamped parts from own production have already been approached and suitable replacement and connection options are being worked out together. For the 30 employees of Unipress, the possibility of subsequent employment in the manufacturing of the Suhner Group is being reviewed. The corresponding consultation process has been initiated. This strengthens personnel where Suhner has promising potential: CNC manufacturing, assembly, warehouse and logistics for the management of the increasing accessories for metalworking as well as for the increasing service and repair needs of drilling and thread cutting units, and in quality assurance.

Through the alignment towards the changed market environment away from mass production towards individualized workpieces, an appropriate replacement service has been developed in recent years with "Components@Suhner", which Suhner already provides. The service for rapid prototyping and 3D metal printing via upload platform is fully developed and already introduced on the market.
