Engine technology Supplier demonstrates diesel engine with over 50 percent efficiency
China is at the forefront of electric mobility, but has not yet decided on the end of the combustion engine. Engine manufacturer Weichai Power has now presented a diesel engine with a record-breaking efficiency.
China has become the leading market for electric cars. However, the local automotive industry is still investing in new combustion technology. A new diesel engine has recently been introduced, which with a thermal efficiency of more than 53 percent, is said to have set a new world record for such engines. While manufacturers and suppliers worldwide are turning away from the combustion engine and rushing into the electric future, China is taking a cautious approach by pursuing two tracks.
