Next spring, the VW ID Polo will launch, initially with three power levels. Variants with 85 kW, 99 kW, and 155 kW will be available. Later in the year, a GTI version with 166 kW is set to follow.

VW combines the two lower-powered versions with an LFP battery (37 kWh). The range is expected to be around 186 mi. The maximum charging power is 90 kW. The two higher-powered versions are equipped with an NMC battery with 52 kWh (net). This increases the range to up to 280 mi. At fast charging stations, charging power of up to 130 kW is expected to be available.

With a length of 13.3 ft, the ID Polo is similar in size to the classic Polo with a combustion engine. However, VW promises a noticeable increase in space. This is especially true for the rear passengers. The trunk volume also increases, offering around 114 or 317 gal. For comparison, the conventional Polo provides 93 or 297 gal.

VW continues to quote 28,000 as the starting price. The ID Polo is being produced alongside sister models from other group brands at Seat's plant in Martorell, Spain.
