At the Busworld trade fair in Brussels, VinFast unveiled its new electric bus models, the “EB 8” and “EB 12.” Both vehicles meet EU standards and are scheduled to launch in 2026. According to VinFast, the EB 12 is fully homologated under UNECE and CE regulations. It has been specifically designed for European deployment, taking into account local regulations and infrastructure—including size, configuration, range, and charging compatibility.

Both buses are equipped with LFP batteries supplied by CATL and Gotion. VinFast states that the batteries offer capacities of up to 422 kilowatt-hours, which enables a real-world range of up to 250 miles. The batteries support fast charging at up to 140 kilowatts. The EB 12 is powered by two 125-kW hub motors, and its top speed is limited to 50 mph.

Driver Assistance And Infotainment Systems on Board

VinFast equips the buses with a range of driver assistance systems, including blind-spot detection, intelligent speed assistance, forward collision warning, and driver fatigue monitoring. Onboard features also include Wi-Fi, USB charging ports, infotainment systems, and lowered suspension for easier boarding and exiting.

In Vietnam, VinFast claims to have already built a functioning electric bus ecosystem. Over the past four years, the company says it has deployed 300 electric buses across five major cities. The current delivery time for the EB 12 is quoted as 10 to 12 months. The EB 8 will be available once homologation is complete. At present, VinFast reports an annual production capacity of 1,500 to 2,000 electric buses.
