Property Protection The Important Role of Video Operation Centers in Logistics
Video Operation Centers (VOC) play a special role in property protection and remote surveillance: they evaluate images from surveillance cameras in real time, which are filtered in advance by AI-based video analysis tools. In the event of an alarm, the operators work through a defined action plan and coordinate the emergency services.
Remote video surveillance of buildings and facilities is a central component of security concepts. It deters potential perpetrators and makes it possible to detect dangers, damage or unauthorized access at an early stage. However, as the size and complexity of areas increases, so does the volume of image data and alarm messages. This is where a Video Operation Center (VOC) becomes increasingly important: it can use remote video surveillance to ensure alarm monitoring of an object or area around the clock if necessary. Secontec, a pioneer in remote monitoring, operates two of these VOCs in Germany: in Leipzig and in Recklinghausen (Germany). "On site, we can ensure for our customers that every alarm message is evaluated immediately and appropriate measures are initiated quickly," says Friedrich Schröder, Head of Video Operation Center at Secontec Services GmbH.
