The "Taiwan International Machine Tool Show (TMTS) 2026", organized by the Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders' Association (TMBA), has come to an end after four successful days. The event impressed with a lively atmosphere and offered numerous new business opportunities.

Trade visitors from over 80 countries took the opportunity to exchange ideas and network. The trade fair attracted a total of around 73,000 visitors from Germany and abroad. The proportion of international visitors was around ten percent. TMTS 2026 is expected to generate a procurement volume of over 2 billion US dollars.

This year, the trade fair showcased specific products and technologies from the Taiwanese machine tool industry in the areas of "Digital Transformation (DX)" and "Green Transformation (GX)". It also made it clear that Taiwan is setting new standards by integrating the AI ecosystem. The focus is no longer just on the sale of individual machines, but on complete solutions for industrial applications. Taiwan has thus established itself as a strategic partner in global manufacturing.

The highlights of the trade fair made it clear that the Taiwanese machine tool industry has entered a new chapter of AI-supported transformation. The fusion of real production and the virtual world was evident everywhere. Open platforms enabled precise digital twin environments that allowed international buyers to monitor equipment in real time and accurately predict capacity. This significantly shortened the decision-making chain in complex manufacturing processes.

The machines have also been comprehensively equipped with AI technologies. They increase self-optimization, improve machining precision and underline Taiwan's role as a pioneer in the integration of hardware and software.

Farewell to the Model of Individual Solutions

In the area of industrial applications, the trade fair showed significant progress in networking with high-end industries such as semiconductors, energy and aerospace manufacturing. Leading manufacturers in Taiwan have moved away from the model of individual solutions. Through strategic alliances and technology exchange, they are now presenting integrated solutions from a shared value creation ecosystem - from stand-alone machines to multi-axis, multi-tasking systems.

Another focus was on green manufacturing. These solutions help companies to reduce CO₂ emissions, increase efficiency and implement sustainable production processes - a topic that has met with great international interest.

TMTS Digital Treasure Hunt

To improve the visitor experience and promote exchange between companies, the trade fair organized the "TMTS Digital Treasure Hunt". On themed routes, trade visitors were able to meet leading manufacturers and discover the latest developments in AI-supported solutions and sustainable production.

The success of TMTS 2026 marks an important milestone in the transformation of the Taiwanese machine tool industry. It has evolved from a pure hardware exporter to a provider of high-quality system and ecosystem solutions.

Even on the last day of the fair, the atmosphere was dynamic, underlining the strong international demand for Taiwan's intelligent and sustainable manufacturing concepts.

The TMBA announced that it will further expand cross-divisional cooperation in the industrial ecosystem and deepen the integration of AI, data exchange and machine equipment. The aim is to permanently position Taiwan's machine tools as an indispensable part of the global supply chain.
