"At events in the USA, such as the Robotics Summit and the Automate, but also in Germany at the Hannover Messe, we see that manufacturers of robots and machines need to master new possibilities in the field of AI in order to remain future-proof," observes Nikolai Ensslen, CEO and co-founder of Synapticon. Ensslen and his experts in robotics and Integrated Motion Control are therefore witnessing a change in the software architecture of robotics. It's moving from conventional approaches based on discrete, traditional software components to integrated AI models based on neural networks. This change is not only limited to software, but also affects hardware development, where we're moving from traditional CPUs and DSPs to neuromorphic computing and other things that are better suited to the requirements of AI. The official kick-off for Synapticon Intelligence was at the Robotics Summit in Boston on May 1, 2024.

Synapticon Intelligence assists in AI robotics development

Synapticon Intelligence is now building on developments that currently primarily come from Silicon Valley with its services. Various open and closed source projects such as Nvidia's GR00T, Google's RT-2 or the developments of specialized startups like Physical Intelligence or Scaled Foundations are aimed at creating universal foundation models for robot skills. This should achieve a new level of learning and interaction capabilities in robots. These Robot Action Models are supposed to enable humanoid robots to learn from human demonstrations, use reinforcement learning and generate robot movements as output on the input of video data. Synapticon Intelligence wants to support robot manufacturers and machine builders in embedding such AI (AI = artificial intelligence) technologies in their control systems to increase their capabilities and efficiency. Synapticon Intelligence is dedicated to pioneering innovations that not only meet current safety standards, but also anticipate future regulations and challenges, it goes on to say. The aim is to achieve a level of intrinsic safety that allows humanoid robots and other advanced robot systems to operate seamlessly and safely alongside humans in various environments.
