At the recent SPS, Supertrak Conveyance, a market leader in linear conveyance technology, introduced a compact, magnetic conveyor system specifically designed for lean automation in production. Combined with automation technology from Siemens, the Supertrak Conveyance system helps machine builders significantly improve their productivity and product quality, according to a joint press release. The two companies jointly developed this intelligent conveyance system, which can be installed as transport technology in production machines and integrated into Siemens' TIA Portal. The workpiece carriers are driven by linear motors and move flexibly between different stations within the machine during the production process.

The intelligent conveyance platform Horizon3 from Supertrak is a magnetic closed-loop linear transport system that enables manufacturers to create powerful, cost-effective, and space-saving machine designs. By combining the mechatronic system with Siemens Simatic controllers and the motion control functions of the TIA Portal, all components can work together seamlessly. This allows machine builders to find an optimal solution for transporting products and payloads on their machine.

A 3D simulation and animation of the production process and the shuttle workflow provide machine manufacturers with insights into the ideal layout of a facility, the required number of shuttles, and the expected throughput figures.
