Despite the difficult economic situation, there was widespread agreement that important markets will eventually recover and grow. At the same time, there was a clear determination to proactively shape the necessary change. With an eye on new potential, innovation efforts are currently being stepped up. The proactive focus on technological progress met with a strong response from trade fair visitors, who were increasingly willing to make new investments.
This year's event impressed with the high quality of the trade audience, which consisted mainly of relevant decision-makers. In terms of individual visitors, the trade fair recorded an increase of 3 percent, with an increased presence from Germany, which has grown in market relevance in some technology sectors. In addition to Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Poland, Sweden, Turkey, Austria, Spain, Belgium, Denmark and Switzerland were among the most important visitor countries for 2024. A significant increase in visitor numbers from Asia (Japan, Taiwan, India) and South America (especially Argentina) points to promising new markets for the sheet metal working sector.
High pressure to innovate provides a considerable boost to innovation
In nine impressive exhibition halls, Euroblech presented numerous new products and ground-breaking innovations, sending a strong signal for technological progress and new growth opportunities in the industry. In all 15 technology sectors, machine manufacturers demonstrated a strong commitment to achieving greater production efficiency through the use of innovative technologies.
The trade fair featured many technological innovations, including a new system for automated sorting of laser-cut parts with AI-supported image recognition; systems for remote maintenance and diagnostics for rapid troubleshooting and maintenance; highly automated factory solutions that integrate people, machines and data into intelligent production processes; folding machines with a fully automatic tool changer; robust and easy-to-use laser cutting machines specifically designed for new users; modular or compact bending cells for production environments with limited space; a high-power 20kW fiber laser cutting machine for demanding precision applications at high speed; or AI-driven robotics software for complex and adaptive applications, to name a few.
The transformative power of innovation—realized and appreciated in real life
Among the numerous innovation leaders on the trade fair stands, 76 companies were nominated for the prestigious Euroblech 2024 Award, which was presented in partnership with Blechnet and MM MaschinenMarkt. The six winners, chosen by the expert public, were honored for their special innovative achievements in the following technology areas:
Punching and forming technology: Amada, for the fully automatic robotic folding cell "EGB-1303ARse";
Cutting technology: Trumpf, for bevel cutting on 2D laser cutting machines;
Connection technology: Weil Technology, for the "LWC-RT4-BPP" laser welding system;
Surface technology: Q-Fin, for the "Q-Fin F250" small parts finishing machine;
Automation and handling: Reis Robotics, for the "ROBOTstar VII" robot controller;

The following places went to: Airco, Beneva, Bystronic, CNC Europe/Lasermach, EMC, Engmar, EPCM Expert, Hans Weber Maschinenfabrik, Microstep Europe, Schuler, and Wilson Tool. Visitors to the trade fair were able to explore all 76 nominated companies and innovations in person on the new Award Trails.
Beyond stand talks: dynamic exchange of knowledge, commitment and fresh talent
The two "Presentation Areas" in Halls 26 and 27 offered exciting specialist presentations on current developments in the fields of automation and digitalization. A high-caliber panel discussion focused specifically on automation solutions for small and medium-sized companies. The themed tours, which were held for the first time, were well received and offered visitors new opportunities to take a closer look at pioneering technologies and suppliers.
Euroblech 2024 also reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to promoting young talent and fresh perspectives within the sector. One in five exhibitors was new to Euroblech and made a valuable contribution to the show. This included a group of promising start-ups in the "Young Innovators" pavilion in Hall 15, with young companies and innovations from Germany. On Friday, the official careers day, Euroblech invited students and trainees to visit the trade fair free of charge to get to know pioneering technologies and suppliers in person.
