Sensirion has committed to the federal government's net-zero target for 2050. The high-tech company's focus is on avoiding and reducing greenhouse gas emissions in order to reduce its CO2 footprint. Sensirion procures electricity from its own solar cells and renewable energy sources—confirmed by guarantees of origin—at all locations worldwide and makes an additional contribution to climate protection by investing in CO2 removal projects.

In 2025, Sensirion acquired a certain amount of permanent and high-quality CO2 removal via ClimeFi. The portfolio comprises three approaches: Direct Air Capture (DAC), Biomass Carbon Removal and Storage (BiCRS) and CO2 mineralization. DAC uses advanced filtration systems to capture CO2 directly from the atmosphere and store it underground for long-term storage. BiCRS utilizes carbon-rich biomass waste and stores it in stable, geological formations to reduce the likelihood of CO₂ flowing back into the atmosphere. And mineralization converts CO2 into stable minerals or carbonate materials, capturing carbon in solid form for long-term storage.

Through the partnership with ClimeFi, Sensirion has access to a range of projects for high-quality and sustainable CO2 removal as well as continuous monitoring of the portfolio. At the same time, Sensirion is strengthening its commitment to CO2 removal as a complementary measure to emission reductions and further developing its climate strategy.
