Rockwell Automation and Microsoft have expanded their collaboration to provide advanced cloud and AI solutions for the manufacturing industry. According to a press release, the aim is to improve data insights, optimize processes and increase the scalability of industrial systems.

At the Automation Fair in California in mid-November, the partners presented new products such as Microsoft's Azure IoT Operations and Rockwell's Factory Talk Optix, which are designed to enable efficient data analysis without extensive retrofitting. The companies are particularly highlighting the AI-based Copilot in Factory Talk Design Studio, which uses generative AI to support engineers in system development. "This expanded collaboration combines cloud and AI technologies with our deep expertise in industrial automation, enabling our customers to achieve levels of efficiency, innovation and resilience in their operations," says Jessica Korpela, Director, Global Customer Innovation, Rockwell Automation.

The strategic cooperation aims to drive forward the digital transformation of the industry and make companies fit for the future with networked, AI-supported solutions. The companies want to set a new standard for networked, AI-controlled processes.
