Special knowledge for programming the welding sequences is not necessary either for the Smart-Cell or for the CWC-S. The two Cobot systems primarily differ in the types of robots used: The SmartCell is equipped with a Universal Robot, while the CWC-S with a Fanuc Robot CRX-10iA.

Intuitively operable and user-friendly

The Cobot welding cell Smart-Cell, thanks to the Smart-Arc user interface, is an easy and intuitively operable system. With the Smart-Arc Extension Pack handle on the robot arm, the welding professional teaches the Cobot. The integrated turn positioner is optionally available and allows for particularly short cycle times. Moreover, it enables welding in various positions without re-clamping. The assistance system Wire-Sense also saves time and costs: It sends a signal to the robot before welding, based on which it adjusts its program to the current position of the component. The Smart-Cell optionally has a linear axis, and a three-stage safety switch ensures additional safety.

In the CWC-S Cobot welding cell, for welding circular seams, a rotary unit that moves synchronously with the welding process, including a tailstock, is available. With the Weld-Connect app, entering the required welding parameters is easy: Step by step, the operator inputs their specifications, the program calculates the optimal welding parameters, and welds each component with the same quality. The loading and the starting of the welding programs are still done manually.

Welding data management and all-inclusive service

The developers of both Cobots have also considered the recording of welding data for documentation and analysis. The data documentation software Weld-Cube stores all relevant data of the welding process for this purpose. As a result, every single weld seam can be tracked. Moreover, all Weld-Cube variants are web-based software solutions. Users can access Weld-Cube both via computer and via mobile devices to retrieve details about every single weld seam. The system documents the progress of the welding work and evaluates each weld seam using a traffic light system.

An important aspect for getting started with Cobot-Welding: The provider leaves no one alone with the robot welding solution.
