Charging an electric car is now expected to be as fast as refueling a gasoline vehicle. With these words, BYD Chairman Wang Chuanfu introduced a new electric vehicle platform for fast charging and the corresponding batteries at a press conference.The new fast charging technology operates at a voltage of 1,000 volts and currents of up to 1,000 amperes, elevating the charging power into the megawatt range for the first time. According to BYD, this is the first time in the industry that the power of a charging station reaches 1,000 kW (1 megawatt).
