Product configurator: quickly find the right solution

Based on individual application data, Hiwin's design tool systematically inquires about the future application area of the drive component and determines the suitable configurations for the application within a few seconds. With just a few clicks, the standard component can be completely individualised in the product configurator and the appropriate CAD model can be downloaded. Registered users can also order their configured items directly online with short delivery times. Prices and delivery times can be viewed in the personal login area as well as your own projects and orders. Hiwin aims to support its users in the digital design and procurement process as best as possible and to quickly guide them to the appropriate drive technology - from linear guides to ball screw drives to positioning systems.

Design tool: Find the suitable bearing with little effort

Enter dimensions, determine application parameters, find sliding bearings: this is how easy the new Igus online shop Iglidur Bearing Hub for polymer sliding bearings now works. Whether it's a catalogue part or a special bearing, the customer gets a transparent overview of the sliding bearings that are suitable for their application. Similar to online tool or fashion trading, customers can now quickly find the right sliding bearings for their application on a modern user interface. But in addition to the revised operation, the new web shop also has completely new functions. Igus has been offering several online tools for several years. These include the calculation of the lifespan of components to facilitate material selection, or the determination of the cheapest or fastest manufacturing option for custom designs with price and delivery time.

The new shop now combines catalogue, webshop, and calculation program in one. This way, the customer quickly finds the cheapest sliding bearing for their application that works. Instead of clicking through the over 50 different Iglidur materials, the user can simply enter the known dimensions and operating conditions of their desired sliding bearing. In just a few seconds, the shop displays all suitable products including lifespan, price, and delivery time.

App: Efficiently lubricate rolling bearings

Up to 80 percent of all premature bearing failures are caused by improper lubrication. Schaeffler's Grease App addresses this issue by determining the ideal lubricant type, lubricant quantity, grease usage life, and relubrication intervals for the customer's initial and subsequent lubrication of rolling bearings. For the calculations, the software draws on data from its own rolling bearing calculation tool, Bearinx. This prevents over- or under-lubrication and avoids premature bearing failures. In addition, the app provides guidance for the selection of suitable lubricants from the Arcanol program. In combination with the lubricant dispensers from the Concept family, the Optime lubricant dispensers, and the Arcanol lubricants, Schaeffler offers a coordinated system for sustainable lubrication of rolling bearings.

Configuration tool: Digital to the individual linear module

With two new tools for designing and configuring linear modules, Schunk is expanding the digital planning options for automation solutions. The Schunk portfolio contains more than 500 variations of linear modules. To find the right one, the automation expert provides users with the design tool. It is based on a proven design logic. With it, all relevant performance parameters for an individual component can be recorded in an easy and uniform manner. Visual support provides security. Based on the information, the program creates a technically valid recommendation for suitable linear modules. In addition, the design tool provides information such as the application-specific life of the respective component and its utilization rate. Users can therefore already see when selecting a linear module whether the component is suitable one to one for a specific application or whether there is room for expanded applications.

Once the suitable linear module has been found in the correct technical design, it can be further specified using the configurator tool. Users have all non-design-relevant attachments available in a wide variety of variants and options. Configurations can be saved, forwarded and edited again and again. Parallel to the configuration process, the program generates a 3D CAD model of the linear module for visual control of the configuration. Additionally, the model can be downloaded in over 60 formats.
