Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang expects orders worth at least one trillion dollars for the Group's current AI chip systems by the end of 2027. At the same time, Huang is convinced that the demand for computing capacity will increase even more than expected. He said all this at the company's own developer conference GTC. A year ago, Huang had promised orders of up to 500 billion dollars by the end of 2026 for the current chip systems with the names Blackwell and Rubin. Nvidia usually processes orders over a period of several years. In the last financial year, the Group's turnover increased by almost two thirds (to just under 216 billion dollars).

Lack of AI Capacity Costs Billions Every Day

The new trillion mark (currently around 940 billion dollars) can therefore be seen as a sign of confidence from the most important supplier of semiconductors for the AI boom. Major AI developers such as the "ChatGPT" inventor "OpenAI", Google and the Facebook group Meta are also currently investing hundreds of billions of dollars in the construction of data centers for artificial intelligence software. Nvidia will be able to secure a large part of this as part of its chip systems, according to reports. However, some experts and investors doubt that the huge investments can be earned back. However, Huang is known for dismissing such concerns. Even now, he emphasized that the problem of AI providers is more likely to be explained by insufficient capacity than anything else. And, Huang pointed out, it is important to realize that every month of delay in expansion costs companies billions in lost revenue.
