Effective July 1, 2025, Dr. Heather Wijdekop will assume leadership of the Business Unit Processing at Thyssenkrupp Materials Services. Additionally, she will become CEO of the Operating Unit Processing North America. In both roles, she succeeds Norbert Goertz, who will continue as interim CFO of the Business Unit Solutions and is responsible for central functions in Southfield, Michigan.

Dr. Wijdekop brings over 20 years of international experience, accumulated in roles at Tata Steel Europe and the Corus Group. Most recently, she served as Director Commercial at Tata Steel Ijmuiden, where she was responsible for sales, marketing, and customer service, as well as company-wide pricing, business planning, supply chain, and market strategy. She holds a PhD in materials engineering.

The region offers a strong industrial base, high demand for advanced materials, services, and processing solutions, as well as a favorable business environment.
