Magna and Mutares have reached an agreement on the sale of two suppliers. The Amaneos Group, which was created in 2023, will take over Magna's European automotive lighting business. This business is expected to generate sales of 235 million US dollars in 2025. The acquisition is intended to strengthen Light Mobility Solutions GmbH, which was also acquired by Magna in 2021. The acquisition expands the Group's capabilities by combining outdoor modules with lighting technology, creating a fully integrated platform for outdoor systems, Mutares announced. By integrating lighting systems into exterior trim, the Group aims to improve product differentiation, increase value creation per vehicle platform and strengthen its position as a full-service provider for OEMs.

In parallel, Mutares will acquire Magna's car top systems business. The business, which is expected to generate sales of around USD 85 million in 2025, will complement and strengthen the HiLo Group and its expertise in roof and exterior systems. Specifically, the existing portfolio of hinges and locking systems will be combined with roof architectures and mechanisms. In this way, HiLo intends to offer integrated roof and exterior systems and increase system depth and value creation potential.

The transactions are expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2026, subject to the usual regulatory approvals.

Mutares Focuses on US Market and Europe

The acquisitions are intended to accelerate the structural growth of Mutares' portfolio. The focus is particularly on rapid expansion in the US market and in Europe as well as on significant divestment processes. This dynamic will be financially supported by an announced capital increase.

Johannes Laumann, CIO of Mutares, comments: "Both acquisitions represent a decisive step in building scalable, high-performance platforms within our Automotive & Mobility segment and prepare them for medium-term exits." The acquisitions are also intended to support the targets for 2026:

  • Group turnover of between 7.9 billion euros and 9.1 billion euros (approx. USD 9.2 billion/USD 10.6 billion).
  • An annual net profit for the holding company of between 165 million euros and 200 million euros (approx. USD 192 million/USD 233 million).
  • Annual growth in Group sales and the holding company's net profit of 25% by 2030.
