Mercedes-Benz is showcasing the luxury van study Vision V at the "Auto Shanghai" (April 23 to May 2) based on the new VAN.EA platform. It is a four-seater with a slightly futuristic and, above all, luxuriously equipped interior. With the concept, the Swabians want to show what a VIP shuttle in the top-end range could look like.

The interior of the Vision V is designed as a "Private Lounge." It combines a generous amount of space with exquisite materials and a digital experience world. The central features include electrically adjustable individual seats with a reclining function in the rear. The interior combines futuristic design with fine materials. Nappa leather, silk, and open-pored root wood provide comfort. In the rear, there is an automatically adjustable center console with an integrated touchpad and a fold-out table that can also be used as a chessboard. The side walls include a display cabinet and a sideboard, among other things.

Cinema experience on wheels

Thanks to a retractable 65-inch screen with 4K resolution, passengers in the rear can enjoy a cinema atmosphere. When extended, the screen serves as a visual barrier between the driver's and passenger's compartments. Additionally, the two areas are separated by a pane that can be darkened. The side windows can also be switched to opaque. Thanks to a surround sound system with 42 speakers and projectors that enable a 360-degree experience, an immersive digital sound environment is created. Variable ambient lighting and an integrated fragrance system are additional ingredients for a multisensory experience.

Guests have seven digital experience worlds to choose from, including modes for entertainment, work, play, or relaxation. For the driver and passenger, a continuous super screen with three display areas offers extensive control and information functions, including real-time navigation with augmented reality content.

Vision V: Striking exterior

In the external appearance of the Vision V, Mercedes emphasizes black paint and large metallic high-gloss surfaces like the 24-inch alloy wheels. The front is characterized by an illuminated "radiator grille" in XL format, while the rear features a large, curved glass element framed all around by a tail light.

From 2026, Mercedes plans to launch the first models on the VAN-EA platform. The range is expected to extend from entry-level family vans to VIP shuttles and luxury limousines with ample space.
