In early July, a forum on 3D printing at the Point-of-Care was held for the first time at the DKFZ German Cancer Research Centre in Heidelberg, jointly organised by Stratasys Medical Germany and Materialise Medical. The event impressively demonstrated how additive manufacturing can improve patient outcomes in various medical fields. Special thanks go to Armin Runz from the DKFZ German Cancer Research Centre for the invitation to Heidelberg. Not to forget Jakob Föhres, from Materialise Medical, for jointly organising and moderating the event. The opportunity to meet numerous users and discuss the progress in the field of 3D printing was highly enriching for everyone.

Distinguished speakers enriched the event

During the forum, the speakers presented impressive examples of the use of 3D printing in medical care. The speakers included Dr. Matthias Gielisch, Prof. Bernhard Dorweiler, Marina Nagel, Thomas Allmendinger, Martin Schulze, Dr. Hartmut Böhm, Naomi N., Anahita Bakhtiari Moghaddam, Tibor N. Jung, Dr. Oskar Seifert, and Dr. Reinald Kühle. Their contributions highlighted the diverse applications and benefits of 3D printing technology in medicine. Further thanks go to Stefan Kapp, Nils Winkes, and Michael Eichmann for their support. In the future, more joint events are planned to further promote the development and application of 3D printing technology in the medical field.
