With the second generation of liquid-cooled CCS charging connectors CHARX connect professional, 1,000 kW can be transmitted in Boost Mode and 800 kW continuously. This is enabled by a newly developed cooling concept, where the environmentally friendly and low-maintenance cooling liquid is directed through the power cores for efficient cooling.

Improved ergonomics in the grip area, a flexible cable design, and a reduced weight of the CCS megawatt charging connector compared to the first generation ensure comfortable and easy handling with increased charging power.

Easy Replacement

The plug-in frame and all contacts of the new HPC charging plug can be easily exchanged without opening the housing and without draining the coolant. This allows for cost-effective and sustainable maintenance. In addition to a standard cable end configuration, Phoenix Contact offers customized connection concepts for power, signals, and cooling upon request to support charging station manufacturers in building their HPC charging stations. Additionally, the component enables reliable leakage detection and compliant billing of charging processes through the integrated four-wire measurement technology.

Fast Charging of Commercial Vehicles

With the charging capacity of the CCS megawatt charging connector, not only are electric cars charged in a few minutes, but for the first time, electric commercial vehicles with large batteries are also quickly ready for use again. They require high charging capacities to achieve acceptable charging times. (se)
