Innomotics, a world-leading company for electric motors and large drives, is to supply 11 water-cooled HV M high-voltage motors and GH180HC medium-voltage converters each to Piller Blowers & Compressors. The motors and converters are used in machines for the world's most powerful industrial heat pump system at BASF's headquarters in Ludwigshafen (Germany).

The planned heat pump will have a capacity of up to 500,000 tons of steam per year. For this project, the motors and converters from Innomotics were specially adapted to the needs of Piller and BASF. Emphasis was placed particularly on a compact design and long-term reliability of the components. The water-cooled systems are also expected to be characterized by low noise emissions and high efficiency.

Customized Adjustments Instead of Standard Solution

Michael Reichle, CEO of Innomotics: "This project is the result of trusting and close collaboration between German industrial companies. With advanced technology, even energy-intensive and technically demanding processes in the chemical industry can be made sustainable. However, this cannot be achieved with out-of-the-box solutions. The prerequisite is that we continuously optimize our product designs and adapt them in close coordination with our customers for the specific application."

Christoph Böhnisch, Managing Director of Piller, adds: "The team from Innomotics has accompanied the entire process so far with innovative approaches and flexibility. We are pleased to implement this groundbreaking project together with our long-standing partner. We are convinced that Innomotics' reliable and efficient portfolio is the right choice for the demanding operating conditions."
