From April 22nd to 26th, 2024, the Hannover Fair will open its doors again. Those who are unable to make it to the Lower Saxony state capital can conveniently attend digitally, as the fair is being organized in a hybrid format again.

They are the really big and pressing issues that the world's largest industrial fair is tackling this year under its main theme "Energizing a sustainable Industry". To energize sustainable industry, the fair puts the industry's emission-free energy supply at the center of attention.

The future will be more electric.

Several premieres will also take place: For the first time and on a large scale, the concept of the All Electric Society will be brought into focus through its own arena - in the middle of Hall 11 and attached to booth B58. The arena is organised by ZVEI with well-known exhibitors. "The goal of the All Electric Society Arena is to discuss the possibilities of an energy supply based primarily on renewable energies and to make it tangible in a practical way," explains Gunther Koschnick, Head of Industry at ZVEI. Experts from the industry, science and politics will shed light on how the future is becoming increasingly electric in a diverse lecture programme. "The ZVEI vision of the All Electric Society is the offer of the electrical and digital industry to achieve the agreed climate targets," Koschnick continues. "Not only direct electrification of technologies and processes, but also sector coupling and intelligent storage technologies such as hydrogen and power-to-X technologies play an important role in this." The "Renewable Dialogue - North Sea Energy Hub" conference is also making its debut. The conference, which will take place for the first time on April 23, 2024 in Convention Center, will see representatives from Norway and Germany discussing the relevant challenges of the energy transition, the political framework conditions as well as technological developments and applications as concrete solution options.

Operate with resource efficiency

On April 23, the 5th Lightweighting Summit of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) will also be held. The congress is dedicated to the topic of "Lightweighting as a Transformation Technology for Resource Revolution" and will shed light on the significant role of lightweighting concepts in the transition to a resource-efficient economy.

Of course, exhibitors are also picking up on the guiding theme: In Hall 12, more than 300 companies are presenting their solutions from the fields of process and waste heat, renewable energies, energy management and energy efficiency as well as mobility, resource efficiency and circular economy. In the adjacent Hall 13, the hydrogen industry is showing how it will contribute to a CO2-neutral production in the future with new technologies and business models.

Robotics against the shortage of skilled workers.

For all those who are looking for solutions in the fight against the shortage of skilled workers, this year's Hannover Messe offers another highlight with the Application Park in Hall 5. Visitors will find intelligent robot systems, self-driving devices in use, and the latest AI applications in robotics. The Application Park is partnered with the German Robotics Association (DRV), which has taken on the task, among others, to promote the use of robotics in Germany. Because in a global comparison, Germany ranks 5th after China, Japan, Korea and the USA. A highlight of the park are the driverless transport systems, which impressively show that drivers can be dispensed with in many areas in the future.

Those who make the trip to the capital of Lower Saxony this April will find above all one thing: answers to the urgent challenges of our time.
