At the 15th German Mechanical Engineering Summit, the Danish robotics cluster Odense Robotics and VDMA Robotics + Automation agreed on a far-reaching cooperation. According to a statement, the aim is to strengthen European competitiveness in AI, robotics, and automation through greater networking, joint innovation projects, and closer political coordination. The initiative is supported by the German and Danish governments.

As part of the agreement, joint events for networking and matchmaking, closer collaboration with the VDMA Startup Machine, and a stronger presence at Automatica are to be implemented. This builds on the plans for a "Robotics Action Plan for Europe" already developed within the VDMA, it further states.

For Dietmar Ley, Chairman of VDMA Robotics + Automation, the alliance comes at the right time: “Europe is facing profound challenges. To secure our competitiveness, we need more innovative power and significantly faster pace. Robotics, AI, and automation are key enabling technologies in this regard.”
