Last week, Arku held its info days under the motto "Next Level Deburring. Pure Innovations." focusing on the deburring of sheet metal parts and the leveling of sheets and coils - with practical live demonstrations, new machines, and expert consultations.

The highlight was the premiere of the Edge Breaker 3000 fiber, specifically developed for deburring and rounding fiber laser parts. The burr on fiber parts is often particularly hard and tough due to the high energy impact during the cutting process. Conventional deburring machines often reach their limits here—with incomplete edge processing or increased time expenditure. The Edge Breaker 3000 fiber addresses this precisely: It combines a powerful grinding belt for double-sided deburring with special rounding blocks that reliably remove even hard burrs while simultaneously cleanly rounding the edges. The result: a 50 percent time saving by processing both sides in one pass—and a surface quality that meets customer requirements. "With the Edge Breaker 3000 fiber, we are taking the deburring of fiber parts to a new level," explains Andreas Hellriegel, Head of Sales at Arku.

Innovations for all Cutting Processes

For classic stamped and laser parts, Arku offers a true "next level" solution: The Edge Breaker 3000 next introduces the most economical form of double-sided deburring. Thanks to intelligent technology, processing is efficient, process-secure, and delivers reproducible results—ideal for customers with high volumes and quality demands. A special innovation: the machine can process sheet metal parts up to 2,000 millimeters (approx. 78 inches) in width. The large glass front on the machine’s front provides a clear view of the working area, significantly simplifying process monitoring and control. At the same time, this new generation of the Edge Breaker is up to 40 percent more energy-efficient due to an innovative drive concept.

For flame-cut parts, Arku presents the powerful solution Edge Breaker 9000 line. It takes over the double-sided complete processing of your flame-cut parts after plasma cutting in just one pass: Slag removal, deburring, and edge rounding. The system processes flame-cut parts with a material thickness of up to 100 millimeters (approx. 3.9 inches).

Intelligent Machine Control

With the Wizard, the operation of deburring and leveling machines has already been revolutionized. At the press of a button, the machine independently finds the optimal settings for the respective workpiece. This not only saves setup time but also improves repeatability—regardless of the machine operator's experience.

In the area of leveling, Arku showcased its entire range of precision leveling machines, from the compact Eco Master for smaller components to the powerful Flat Master. This part leveling machine can reliably process flame-cut parts up to 60 millimeters thick (approx. 2.3 inches).

Another highlight was the topic of coil laser systems—a development in collaboration with Trumpf. It allows sheet metal processors to flexibly produce even medium-sized batches from the coil. This results in much less waste in part cutting compared to laser cutting from standard sheets. The elimination of format boundaries allows for more efficient nesting of sheet metal parts. This enables up to 30 percent material savings for large-area parts.

Retrofit: Modernize Sustainably Instead of Purchasing New

In addition to new installations, Arku is also focusing on the topic of retrofitting: modernizing existing coil lines offers companies an economical and sustainable alternative to new acquisitions. Targeted upgrades can significantly enhance performance, energy efficiency, and the degree of automation—while requiring less investment. Arku provides individual and practical advice on how existing systems can be made ready for the future.
