Despite a somewhat subdued economic situation and political challenges, 574 companies from 35 nations have already registered for the upcoming Formnext in Frankfurt, according to Mesago.

"The very good registration numbers of Formnext reflect the relevance of additive manufacturing for the entire industry," comments Sascha F. Wenzler, Vice President Formnext at the organizer Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH, on the current situation. After all, additive manufacturing is considered a production technique that enables companies to meet current challenges and unlock new economic potentials. At the same time, Formnext also reflects the continued strong growth of the global industry, which prepares the way for the industrial future every year with numerous innovations and applications, as it continues. And with the current registration numbers, Formnext 2024 even surpasses the already very good data from the previous year. Of the exhibitors registered so far, 64 percent are from abroad, says Wenzler. The most important exhibitor countries include Germany, the USA, China, Great Britain, France, the Netherlands, Italy, and Spain. Among the exhibitors confirmed so far are also the world elite of Additive Manufacturing (AM). These are companies like 3D Systems, Additive Industries, Addup, Altair, Arburg, BASF, Bigrep, Bosch, Carbon, DMG Mori, Dyemansion, EOS, Evonik, Farsoon, Formlabs, GE Additive, Henkel, Höganäs, HP, Keyence, Linde, Markforged, Materialise, Nexa 3D, Nikon SLM Solutions, Renishaw, Ricoh, Sandvik, Siemens, Sisma, SMS Group, Stratasys, Trumpf, Velo 3D, and Voxeljet.

AM World Fair scores with good opportunities for business

The fact that Formnext can continue its success story even in complex times is, according to Wenzler, due to the excellent business opportunities offered by the world of additive manufacturing that is experienced at Formnext. This is a plus point not only for manufacturers of 3D printing systems but also for companies along the entire process chain. Mesago is registering an increasing number of companies from traditional industrial sectors that are discovering the 3D printing industry as an exciting market and want to benefit from the predominantly double-digit annual growth rates. And Rainer Lotz, President EMEA at Renishaw and Chairman of the Formnext Exhibitor Advisory Board, confirms: "We recognized the potential of additive manufacturing many years ago. Formnext has since been the annual focal point for us to present our innovations and the overall process – especially in the field of quality assurance."

Numerous new exhibitors demonstrate the important role of Formnext

The positive development is also underscored by the numerous new exhibitors, as emphasized by Mesago. Among them are large and renowned companies such as Bechtle AG, PLC, or Schaeffler Special Machinery. Daniel Pokorny, Head of Communication Technology, Innovation & Digitalization at Schaeffler, on their premiere at Formnext: "Schaeffler Special Machinery will present its self-developed multi-material 3D printing machine for industrial manufacturing at the fair." Using sample parts, the machinery manufacturer of the Schaeffler Group will also show its diverse application potentials for industries such as medical technology or e-mobility. With its first-time appearance at Formnext, the Motion Technology Company demonstrates its clear goal to establish itself as a reliable partner in the growing market for additive manufacturing in the long term.

A large part of the new exhibitors, coming from a total of 25 nations, are also rooted in traditional industries and offer not only industrial plants and software but also metrology as well as automation or engineering know-how. Specialized AM products, such as innovative 3D printers and materials, will also be well represented. Formnext will open its doors from November 19 to 22, 2024, in Frankfurt am Main.
