The European Defence Supply, taking place on 28 and 29 April 2026 in Munich, is a key event for the European defence industry. The event aims to connect civilian technology providers with the defence sector to strengthen Europe’s technological sovereignty.

In a rapidly changing security landscape, both demand and defence budgets are steadily increasing. The European Defence Supply offers a neutral platform to facilitate the entry of civilian technology providers into the defence industry. The event aims to foster new partnerships, provide answers to questions, and ease market access. Discussions will cover NATO strategies and the challenges faced by new market entrants, addressed through practical presentations and discussions.

Our speakers and formats

The conference on 29 April 2026 will feature a balanced programme with various Talk, Knowledge, and Networking formats, including:

  • Keynotes & Expert Lectures on security and industrial policy frameworks, such as NATO strategies and opportunities and challenges for new market entrants.
  • Practical Talks on EU regulations, functional safety, and cybersecurity — essential aspects for successful participation in defence projects.
  • Workshops & Matchmaking Formats, including speed pitches, in-depth thematic discussions, and direct partner matchmaking between start-ups, OEMs, and suppliers.
  • Networking Opportunities, including an informal reception on the evening before and a concluding networking session.

As keynote speakers, among others, we welcome:

  • General (Ret.) Chris Badia, former NATO official, who will provide insights into security policy frameworks.
  • Major General Michael Bender from the Federal Office for Equipment, Information Technology and Utilisation of the Bundeswehr (BAAINBw).
  • Colonel Matthias Puschnig from the Federal Ministry of Defence (BMVG).

These and other experts will present strategic insights and practical knowledge on security and industrial policies. Moreover, the EDS will offer an expert panel on the topic "From Strategy to Scale: Delivering Europe’s Defence Ramp-Up," as well as various workshops and a start-up showcase.

A key component of the European Defence Supply and our goal is networking. The evening prior will feature an informal reception inviting relaxed exchanges. During the event, the aforementioned speed pitches from start-ups will provide an exciting opportunity for introductions. Additionally, visitors will find around 30 OEMs, suppliers, and institutions, along with their contacts in the exhibition area.

Target audience and benefits

The European Defence Supply is aimed at CEOs, CTOs, and decision-makers from industrial companies looking to explore new market opportunities, as well as medium-sized enterprises in the fields of mechanical engineering, electronics, software, robotics, additive manufacturing, and materials science. Innovative start-ups and scale-ups specialised in sensor technology, AI, IoT, or dual-use technologies will also benefit from insights and the opportunity to establish direct connections with integrators and procurers.
