Electric trucks have become part of everyday logistics operations. After Daimler Truck mentioned some examples in August, MAN is now following suit.

Over 3.1 million miles have been covered by around 200 fully electric trucks from MAN in the fleets of European logistics service providers since early 2025. Clearly, marketing rejoices over this number. Beyond that, it demonstrates that electrically powered trucks can be integrated into everyday freight operations. DB Schenker, Dachser, Duvenbeck, or Dräxlmaier are examples of major companies using electrically powered trucks. MAN highlights some detailed examples in a statement: the Behrens Group, a timber wholesaler, has driven over 31,000 miles fully electrically with its E-TGX. According to MAN, the e-trucks are equipped with interchangeable frames for electric on-board forklifts. Behrens charges the trucks partly using its own photovoltaic energy.

Food, Textiles, And Beverages

In France, the Jacky Perrenot Group, one of Europe's largest food haulers, has taken delivery of the first vehicles. The order comprises more than 100 e-trucks in total. In the Netherlands, logistics providers Cornelissen, van Doorn, and Koopman are deploying their first e-trucks in urban and regional distribution transport. In Poland, Danone is using fully electric trucks from MAN for food transportation.

In Portugal, e-trucks are in operation at the logistics company TJA for national logistics. Nor Tekstil, Norway's largest textile service provider, has adopted its first e-trucks. In Denmark, the beverage company Royal Unibrew uses fully electric trucks for supplying retailers.

In the municipal sector, electric trucks are also of interest: According to MAN, an Austrian association of twelve cities and municipalities has agreed to a framework contract for up to 45 vehicles.

CO2 Savings Potential Over Lifetime

MAN calculates: If the mentioned trucks had used 100 percent green electricity, they would have avoided around 3,970 US tons of CO2 emissions during operation, based on an average consumption of 90 kWh per 62 miles—compared to diesel trucks with a consumption of approximately 27 liters per 62 miles.

Scaled to a vehicle lifespan of around 746,000 miles, these e-trucks alone, according to MAN, could collectively save around 172,000 tons of CO2: approximately as much as a German city of 32,000 inhabitants emits annually.

Series Production And Growing Demand

Since June 2025, MAN has been manufacturing the E-TGX and E-TGS models in series production at its plant in Munich. The models are designed for medium- and long-haul operations, as well as construction or municipal tasks. The electric models roll off the same line as their diesel-powered counterparts. Up to 100 vehicles per day are possible. According to MAN, almost 800 heavy electric trucks are currently on the order books. Starting from a low baseline, demand for electric vehicles at MAN more than doubled in the first half of 2025 compared to the previous year.

In mid-August, Daimler Truck also named a selection of freight companies that are using or planning to use electrically powered trucks. One of these companies employs the socially famous electric trucker Tobias. The professional driver at Nanno Janssen is on the road in long-haul transport with an electric truck—accompanied by his dog Krümelix and a camera.
