Dualis, which has been a sales partner of Munich-based software provider Visual Components for 20 years and specializes in customer-specific adaptations of this simulation software, has designed a solution for process linking and intralogistics specialist Montratec that is specifically tailored to the Columbus-McKinnon subsidiary's own products and processes. The configurator developed by Dualis is reportedly available to Montratec employees, customers and integrators worldwide.

With the project for Montratec, we show how flexibly Visual Components can be adapted to specific requirements.

Heike Wilson, Managing Director at Dualis

With the help of the 3D simulation platform Visual Components, conveyor and automation system manufacturer Montratec can plan layouts easily and intuitively and simulate them directly if required. Montratec develops, produces and sells the Montrac modular transport system, which is based on a rail-bound shuttle system and produces customized intralogistics solutions for modern manufacturing processes.

Configure, Simulate, Test

The configurator is based on a component library developed by Dualis within Visual Components, which digitally maps the entire Montratec product portfolio, including sensors, control logic and automated processes. This means that layouts can not only be configured, but also realistically simulated and checked.

Even in the early stages of customer contact, the configurator provides numerous advantages for marketing, sales and the preparation of quotations, the company continues. High-quality visualizations, animations and videos from the simulations can be used for brochures, trade fairs or social media, for example. Sales teams would also benefit: They can present customer-specific layouts in 2D, 3D or VR - this creates trust and makes it easier to communicate technical contexts.
