The Digital Twin Starter Kit makes it possible to seamlessly transfer sensor data from the field level to cloud platforms like AWS or Microsoft Azure. Together with Bosch, Pepperl+Fuchs presented this exhibit at this year's Hannover Messe 2025 (Germany).

The Digital Twin Starter Kit is aimed at companies that want to design their production facilities with digital twins. It includes powerful sensors, an IO-Link master, a fanless embedded PC, and all necessary components for seamless integration. The IO-Link master serves as an interface between the sensors and the embedded PC, which pre-processes and aggregates the data. Subsequently, the data is transferred to the Bosch Digital Twin platform, known as the Intelligence Core. There, real-time data analysis takes place through the integrated IAPM solution (Intelligent Asset Performance Management).

The open platform and the use of open communication standards such as OPC UA and MQTT ensure high flexibility and individual scalability. The starter kit configures itself automatically when connected to the internet and powered on, making the entry into digital transformation easier.

Predictive Maintenance Through AI and Machine learning

A key feature of the starter kit is its capability for predictive maintenance. Using AI and machine learning, potential failures can be predicted, maintenance schedules optimized, and action recommendations provided. This enables preventive intervention and contributes to the smooth operation of the facility.

The starter kit is suitable for various types of machines, including centrifugal pumps, centrifugal compressors, and industrial fans with induction motors. The solution offers a three-month test phase, including introductory and concluding workshops to define the expectations and results of the test phase. After the test phase, the solution can be quickly expanded to other critical assets within the company. (mc)
