OEMs must deliver the highest quality and application-specific solutions for end products. At the same time, flexibility and a reliable supply chain are essential to respond to fluctuating demands and short-term changes. The supplier Timmer demonstrates how to respond to this.

OEM customers (Original Equipment Manufacturers) face a number of complex challenges: they rely on suppliers who not only meet the highest quality standards but are also able to provide technologically innovative solutions that integrate seamlessly into existing systems. One such supplier is Timmer GmbH, which has developed strategies to convince original equipment manufacturers in the long term.

Quality is everything for OEM customers, says Stefan Anstöter, Key Account Manager at Timmer. "After all, our products directly influence the performance and reliability of their end products." Therefore, durability and precision must meet the highest standards in the manufacturing of products. Adhering to strict quality standards, ISO certifications, and conducting regular testing procedures are also essential and a basic requirement. "However, that is not enough to survive in the competitive market: OEM customers demand innovative solutions at the cutting edge of technology and a high level of engineering expertise to implement their specific requirements precisely," adds Anstöter.

In practice, this means advanced products are needed that reflect current industry developments and are adaptable. OEM customers depend on being able to optimally integrate the delivered products into existing systems. This only works if manufacturers precisely know their customers' needs and work closely with them. "It's about understanding the customer's technological vision and realizing it in the form of our components," explains Anstöter. "We therefore develop new solutions or adapt existing products to the customer's specific requirements."

Delivery reliability and flexibility are more in demand than ever

In addition to technical aspects, flawless service is crucial for OEM customers when deciding in favor of a long-term partner. They rely on precise and flexible supply chains. "It's not enough to just have a good product," emphasizes Anstöter. Timely delivery and the ability to respond to short-term changes in demand are equally important. Timmer therefore relies on just-in-time deliveries to minimize its customers' storage costs. Moreover, the pump specialist has optimized its processes to enable a quick adjustment of production even with fluctuations in demand. Flexibility is key: suppliers should be able to change production plans and still meet agreed delivery times.

Another often underestimated criterion is after-sales service, including effective complaint management. Technical support plays an important role for many OEM customers. They need to be assured that they will receive comprehensive assistance promptly in case of issues and that spare parts are readily available. Ideally, it should not come to that, says Anstöter: "We must not only react to problems but prevent them proactively by communicating closely with our customers and offering solutions early on."

Double diaphragm pump meets complex market requirements

The Timmer solution for the OEM sector is called Tim-Classic and is specifically designed to meet the demands of the market. The efficient and maintenance-friendly double diaphragm pump is suitable for conveying liquids, pasty substances, and media with solids. Its special features are a high degree of flexibility and individuality. Tim-Classic has individually adjustable connections that improve compatibility with existing systems and allow for smooth interchangeability with other pump models.

Integration into existing systems is simple thanks to the modular system. The modular design of the pump allows customers to choose from different materials, such as for diaphragms, valve ball tips, and seals. In addition, special solutions and system adaptations are easily possible. Customers with very specific requirements receive customized solutions that optimize their processes. The demand for individualized solutions in the OEM sector is growing, which requires particularly close collaboration with customers. "The impulses we receive from this are incredibly valuable to us as well and create a win-win situation: our customers receive a product perfectly tailored to their requirements, and we continuously expand our application expertise. The insights gained are then incorporated into the development of our pumps, which already meet high market demands in their basic version," explains Anstöter.

To ensure operational safety and increase system availability, the Tim-Classic pump is equipped with Timmer's proven leap valve. Additionally, the reduced compressed air consumption helps lower energy demand, which also brings ecological benefits: compared to other pumps, Tim-Classic enables significant savings. Timmer also offers customers an alternative PE diaphragm instead of the PTFE diaphragm to comply with PFAS ban regulations.

Safety through targeted maintenance and quick service

Digitalization, transparent process design, and planning are among the benefits combined in the intelligent sensor Tim-Tron. In the scope of hub detection, it provides precise and reliable data. This function allows for exact monitoring and control of processes. It can also be safely used in explosive environments. "With Tim-Tron, we reduce downtimes and increase the productivity of the system by reducing unforeseen failures," says Anstöter. Because the exact data collection allows for early detection of the need for repairs.

If maintenance is required on the pump, the procedure is simple: the pneumatic control valve can be quickly replaced by loosening just four screws, minimizing downtime in the event of a fault. Additionally, the leap valve contributes to startup reliability, thus supporting reliable operation. If a pump component needs to be replaced, customers benefit from the added value of quick spare part supply.

Customers also benefit from comprehensive services, which are a top priority at Timmer, explains Anstöter: "The requirements and wishes of our customers are at the center of our actions. Therefore, we strive for close contact." The manufacturer also implements individual requests. This is exemplified by the principle of private labeling: customers can brand the Tim-Classic pump with their own branding. Trust plays an important role in individual device designs and specific technological adaptations. "Many of our customers are innovators in their industry and need to be sure that their ideas are handled confidentially," explains Anstöter. "We place great emphasis on ensuring this confidentiality. Our customers can trust that their data is safe with us and that we do not compete directly with them."
