Since its foundation in 1977, Conquer has been dedicated to the safety of various electronic devices for many years. Today, the company is the leading developer and manufacturer of fuses in the Asia-Pacific region. Conquer specializes in five main product lines aimed at different industries, including photovoltaic, healthcare, telecommunications, automotive, drones, and renewable energies. We spoke with Ryan Chiu, Vice President of Conquer in Taipei.
ELEKTRONIKPRAXIS: What is your main motivation for exhibiting at German trade fairs like embedded world and electronica?
Ryan Chiu: Our primary goal is to expand into the European, American, and Chinese markets and promote the application of fuses in the fields of automotive, renewable energies, telecommunications (5G/6G), and data center servers.
What are your best products for the German and European market?
We are a manufacturer of disposable fuses. We recommend our chip fuse (LTCC) for automotive electronics and our power fuse series for AC and DC charging stations, on-board chargers, BMS, PDU, and more.

Could you please name three outstanding features of these products?
The LTCC chip fuse from Conquer features a patented cavity design and offers excellent heat resistance and high interruption performance, ideal for handling inrush currents. Its precise melting time ensures the protection of sensitive electronics, while reflow soldering allows direct mounting on printed circuit boards. It is compatible with various circuit designs and the first choice for consumer electronics.
The ACF series fuse cartridges have been specifically designed for the power supply requirements of AI servers and are suitable for fast-acting fuses in communication power supplies. They meet the safety standards UL248-14 and IEC60127-7 and offer various solutions for protecting circuits, from power input to the system's mainboard. Moreover, the dielectric withstand voltage is twice as high as the rated voltage, ensuring the safety of users. All materials comply with the specifications of the EU Directive on hazardous substances (RoHS) and meet the standards for environmentally friendly products.
The QEV24 fuse series has been designed to comply with ISO 8820 standards for automotive fuses and offers protection solutions for vehicle circuits such as batteries, circuits, and inverters. It features a nominal current range of 60-125A, a voltage range of 1000VDC / 690VAC, and complies with the Japanese automotive standard JASO D622 and the UL 248-20 standard. Moreover, these fuses meet requirements for shock resistance, impact resistance, resistance to high temperatures, and humidity, thus ensuring the safety of users.
What type of application do you primarily target with these products?
As we're discussing this, the whole world has been talking about the same topic lately, of course EV, but from our perspective, the future main market would also revolve around renewable energies, 5G/6G telecommunications, and AI servers/data centers. We provide various products for circuit protection. The safety of life is much more important for humans. That's why our entire team is intensely working on the development of series products to meet the requirements of the EV market.

Regardless of whether the vehicle itself contains a PDU (Power Distribution Unit), an OBC, a BMS (Battery Management System), or an external charging station, Conquer can meet all these needs. Our product meets the requirements of AEC-Q200 and ISO8820. The entire electronic vehicle must be protected by FUSE.
How important is technical support for your products and how do you handle this in Germany and for Europe?
Almost 30 years ago, when many Taiwanese companies were relocating their factories to China, we made a crucial decision to stay in Taiwan because we were determined to create more value for our homeland. As a result, we have retained 100% of our capabilities in Taiwan, including research and development as well as the development and construction of our own automated production lines, all managed by our own staff.
Our product portfolio includes chip fuses, SMD fuses, cartridge fuses, subminiature fuses, and power fuses, which are manufactured with an automation rate of over 99% and strict quality control. This commitment has made Conquer the leading manufacturer of fuses in the Asia-Pacific region.

While we primarily serve customers in Taiwan, we also have global representatives who provide local assistance, support, and flexibility.
What other important information about your company would you like to share with the our readers and users?
This year, CONQUER received the 27th National Quality Award and launched Taiwan's first fully automated production line for network fuses, ensuring more timely deliveries and improved services.
Which business partners and distributors do you collaborate with in Europe and Germany?
Our business partners and dealers in Europe include Alfatec, Rutronik, TME, and Farnell. We will also be exhibiting together with Alfatec at Electronica 2024. Our booth number is A5.421.
Please tell us more about the history of your company.
Conquer has been implementing energy-saving and carbon reduction measures since 2010. Since 2017, we have organized a CSR team. We identified that electricity consumption accounts for the largest share of our carbon emissions, so our goal was to consume less electricity and produce fewer carbon emissions. We began monitoring electricity consumption in our factory. Between 2010 and 2023, we successfully reduced carbon emissions by 4,824 tons and saved 9,122 kWh of electricity.
Since 2022, we have been facing a problem. Our data shows that the decline curve is flattening out. There isn't much we can do. We found a consulting firm, but they said that we can't do better because our current facilities consume too much energy.
Ultimately, we decided to make several major investments. This includes implementing a smart monitoring system instead of manual monitoring and inspection. Upgrading the facilities, including replacing the air conditioning units in the offices with variable frequency devices. Air compression heat recovery for electric heaters.
Replacing high-frequency welding with traditional soldering methods. Switching all lamps to LED lighting. Monitoring the power-on and power-off times of computers, and so on.
We are renewing the ISO 14064 for greenhouse gas emissions and are the second company in Taiwan's electronics industry to receive the ISO50001 for energy management.
In the future, we will continue to work towards this goal to connect with international customers.
