The Beijing-Times-Battery-Base project was designed in accordance with the standards of "Lighthouse Factory + Carbon-Free Factory" and uses highly automated production lines from CATL. Once completed, they aim to provide stable mass production and high-quality battery products for automobile manufacturers located in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. These include BAIC and Xiaomi itself, but also Li Auto. In addition, CATL also wants to encourage more upstream and downstream companies in the industrial chain to settle in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei.

Establish an industry cluster

Representatives from the relevant Beijing municipal government, Zeng Yuqun, Chairman and CEO of CATL, Zhang Jianyong, Chairman of the BAIC Group, Zhang Fengyang, Deputy Director General of the Jingneng Group, Lin Shiwei, Vice President of the Xiaomi Group, and other executives took part in the official groundbreaking ceremony, highlighting the need for such industrial clusters. CATL will also continue to work with other companies to develop new solutions to jointly promote collaboration with Beijing in the areas of transportation electrification and charging and exchange infrastructure.
