The partnership is based on the shared understanding that the use of AI in the physical world will initiate a transformative change. The collaboration brings state-of-the-art AI to real-world robotic systems and enables the use of adaptable, intelligent robots in industrial environments. Agile Robots combines its own scalable industrial robotics platforms with the Gemini Robotics AI base models from Google DeepMind.

By combining Agile Robots' German-developed hardware and other AI robotics solutions with Gemini Robotics' base models, the two companies aim to improve performance in robot deployment, data collection, model training and iterative improvements.

Zhaopeng Chen, CEO and founder of Agile Robots, said: "Agile Robots has already installed over 20,000 robotic solutions worldwide, proving that intelligent automation is possible on a large scale. There is great potential in autonomous, intelligent production systems that can transform entire industries. By integrating Google DeepMind's Gemini Robotics models into our robotics solutions, we are positioning ourselves at the forefront of this rapidly growing market."

Carolina Parada, Senior Director and Head of Robotics at Google DeepMind, said: "We are excited to partner with Agile Robots to develop more advanced AI models for the next generation of robots and amplify their impact across industries. This research partnership is an important step in bringing the impact of AI to the real world."

The partnership will initially focus on industrial use cases in sectors where there is an acute and growing need for adaptable, reliable automation. This includes industrial and production tasks where reliability and scalability are crucial.

The joint training, deployment and testing of the robotic solutions will create a scalable AI loop model: data from real operations will improve the models, and improved models will expand the robots' capabilities—thus opening up broader application possibilities.
