Microchip offers the MPLAB AI Coding Assistant, an AI-supported tool for embedded software development in Microsoft Visual Studio Code (VS Code). The tool is available as a free extension and is based on the open-source AI assistant "Continue." It provides real-time support via a specialized AI chatbot that is specifically optimized for Microchip products.

The MPLAB AI Coding Assistant is equipped with a chatbot that allows developers to evaluate and step through their code directly via the sidebar. Features like intelligent auto-completion, error detection, and inline editing facilitate writing and optimizing code. Additionally, the integrated access to Microchip documentation enables quick information retrieval directly within the IDE.
