According to an analysis conducted by the World Resources Institute using data from the International Energy Agency, 10 percent of passenger cars sold worldwide in 2022 were fully electric—ten times more than just five years earlier. Norway leads with 80 percent of car sales being fully electric, followed by Iceland (41 percent), Sweden (32 percent), the Netherlands (24 percent), and China (22 percent).
